Welcome to the East Room Restaurant
As we come close to the end of the year, it is a good time to reflect on 2019 and what a year it has been so far for my team and I here at The East Room. In my wildest dreams I could not have hoped for the reaction we have had from our guests, the reviews we have had from some of Ireland’s most respected food critics and the variety of awards we have won, all in under two years.
While we had been getting a steady stream of very positive reviews on Tripadvisor since earlier on, staying at number one in Limerick for more than a year was a dream come true in itself and then to receive our Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence was a nice piece of official recognition. Winning two awards at The Restaurant Association of Ireland’s 2019 event in January was really starting to lead us on a path to national recognition and this was followed by two AA Rosettes for Culinary excellence in June and more recently our Michelin Plate. The Michelin Guide is the most prestigious publication worldwide and to have a quote from their inspectors saying - "Beautifully presented modern dishes have a sophisticated feel, with bold flavours and a deft touch." - makes me so proud of my team for all their efforts and hard work. We have also been blessed with top reviews from some of the country’s celebrities and famous food critics such as The Sunday Independents Lucinda O’Sullivan, Tom Doorley from The Irish Daily Mail, Easy Food Magazine’s Caroline Grey, AA’s Conor Faughnan and many more.
Of course, the greatest reward of all for me is to hear guests tell me or my staff how much they have enjoyed their food and dining experience and then to take the time later to put in a good word in a review. We are so looking forward to greeting our guests in the run up to the Christmas period. This year we are extending our evening openings to include Thursdays and we will shortly be introducing our seasonal menus.
